Indeed we are Working Together for Haiti

Over the years, I have had the great pleasure of communicating with many of our donors. Hearing about their lives always leaves me inspired. We who make a commitment to act for social justice are part of an awesome (in the literal sense of the word!) community.

From what I can tell, activism is a habit hard to break... Bob and Adelle Dellavalle-Rauth, for example, with Pax Christi Haiti Task Force in Huddleton, VA, have been involved with Haiti for 30 years and just visited their twin parish last summer.

Reverend Bill Leonard and Ann Witham live, work and worship with a diverse community tha tincludes Haitian diaspora in the Waltham area. Knowing them has left me with an indelible impression that the power of love and generosity overcomes the most difficult challenges somehow, every day.

Dick Vanden Heuvel is an interactive donor with KONPAY! A long timeactivist, he has, thankfully, included me on his action alert list so I can be informed and exercise my duties as a global citizen.

Paul Miller is an activist's activist in my view. He is very quick to generously credit good works, and as far as I can tell is irrepressible himself. Paul was in Chicago for the American Society of Landscape Architects Conference when he met Rob Taylor of Spectrum Products. Paul convinced Rob to make a donation of 30 Treegators, which will save time and water in Gros Morne, where workers have to carry water from the river below to trees on the mountaintop. The slow-release bags attach directly to a tree, and keep it happy and watered for up to a week. Thank you Paul and Rob!

I'll be back with more stories of Haiti KONPAY's Zanmi Nou (Our Supporters).
